Teen Vogue slammed for ‘summer vagina’ article for young readers

IF YOU thought one vagina fit all year round — think again. Teen Vogue says we should be changing up how we care down there with every season.

How much does your vagina cost you?

TEEN Vogue has been criticised on social media after the magazine re-posted an article explaining to young readers how they can get their “summer vagina ready”.

The article — which discussed how, “water, sunshine, sand, sweat can be tricky to navigate” was titled: “How to get your best summer vagina ever”.

The article, which was originally published in 2017, was shared on the magazine Twitter page this week — and explained the various way summer can impact certain parts of your body.

“While you might think there’s little difference in the TLC she gets every other season, ob-gyns note that summer is especially important to pay attention to any symptoms, changes, and funkiness you notice south of the border,” the article read.

“Whether from swimming in the pool or getting sweaty from a walk on a sunny day, moisture and bacteria-covered skin can lead to an unwelcome summer challenge.

“Acne can develop from trapped bacteria and moist skin rubbing can lead to redness and irritation.”

While some social media users commented on the value of the article, others questioned when we started to have a “vagina for all seasons”.

“My spring one still works fine,” one person said.

“It’s sort of like an iPhone; once the new version comes out, the older one is intentionally slowed down until it’s rendered useless,” another joked.

“Wait, I need a summer vagina now? I didn’t know I was supposed to be switching them out with the seasons. I just can’t keep up with fashion,” another added.
