Strange trend of sunburn art appears on social media
PHOTOS of a strange body art trend are appearing on social media. While some may think it looks good, doctors are warning people not to partake.
THANKS to countless government campaigns, Australians are very aware of the dangers and perils of sunburn. Apparently the rest of the world, not so much.
A bizarre new trend known as sunburn art is catching on with people intentionally using the sun’s rays to burn patterns on their skin.
#SunBurnArt is such a terribly bad idea. #Beauty shouldn't be deadly. http://t.co/wDctGWib2X #melanoma pic.twitter.com/cuOR6X7tiu

It’s one thing to draw a smiley face on your belly with sunscreen, but this is a bit ridiculous and doctors have come out and warned against the trend.
It is definitely not widespread, but photos appearing online have garnered enough attention for people to be concerned and the Skin Cancer Foundation to release their “official position” on sunburn art — which is obviously not supportive.
