Former Real Housewives of New York City star has ripped into Kylie Jenner’s Cosmetics Birthday PR Box, branding the product a “scam.”

The reality star, 51, posted a review on Instagram of the beauty product which features the three-piece Birthday Lip Crayon Set and Lip Gloss Set in a large box valued at $US175 ($A268.55).

The problem is that the same two sets can be purchased as a bundle for just $US58 ($A88.97) — meaning that the decorative box alone costs $US117 ($A179.47).

“Girl don’t do it, it’s not worth it!” the star began in her video review.

“This is Kylie’s Birthday PR Package with the same two products as these. This is $58, this is $175. I’m confused!

“A girl said it on TikTok, “I was confused. I thought something had to be different.” There is something different, this has a box that you’re gonna throw in the garbage. Unless you have a hamster that you’re gonna put in here.

“It’s a paper box! Like it’s a paper box. I’m confused. So, I’m gonna keep these which are $58,’ she said of the individual lip gloss bundles. ‘Cause they’re cute and ‘cause I bought them.

“This is going right back and being returned because it’s a scam. How stupid do we have to be? … I mean I’m a sucker, I like it, I like the packaging… but where you lose me is where you scammed me.”

Frankel later gave an update that she was unable to return the product.

“Breaking news, this just in, I just found out that Kylie Beauty does not accept returns, so I am stuck with $117 cardboard box,” she said.

“Maybe I’ll go to the mall and get myself a hamster.”

Fans applauded her candour, with one writing, “I love you dont hold back no matter what thank you xxx”

Another agreed, writing, “Madness and let’s not talk of the environmental side to this. Must be the most expensive box in the world?”

A third joked about Frankel’s bold anti-Kardashian takes, joking, “We must protect Bethany [sic]. If she goes missing it was Kris Jenner.”

This is not the first time Frankel has blasted Kardashian-Jenners products.

Back in August, the star slammed Kim Kardashian’s new skincare line, SKKN, calling the products “impractical at best” and “somewhat overpriced.”

The former Housewife called the $US75 ($A115) egg-shaped eye cream packaging “bulbous,” saying, “I don’t understand it, because it doesn’t stack.”

She added, “I don’t have a circular house or medicine cabinet. It doesn’t even have a flat bottom, so it’s effectively like an egg.”

Frankel went on to compare the Kim K’s $US55 ($A84.55) exfoliator product packaging to a Rubik’s Cube, calling the design a “Wet ’n Wild” idea – referencing the well-known US drugstore brand.
