Sanaa Mehajer has revealed how she beat her battle with acne

SALIM Mehajer’s sister Sanaa has shared unfiltered images of her face revealing a skin condition she has disguised with “layers of makeup” her whole life.

Acne: What works and what's to blame

SALIM Mehajer’s sister Sanaa has opened up about her battle with acne, which she says she’s battled and covered up since puberty.

Taking to Instagram and posting an unfiltered image of her profile, the 22-year-old shared a side-by-side image showing her skin before and after a skin needling treatment.

“This was super hard to share because I cover this up with layers of makeup,” she wrote alongside the comparison.

“Nobody really knew the severity of my skin, until now! Since puberty, I’ve been suffering from congestion and scarring. I’ve been on various medications and changes in diet and nothing seemed to work.

“Every skin type is unique, and things may work differently for others. Unfortunately for me, NOTHING worked.”

The post to her 10,000 followers was met with more than 500 likes and comments.

“Good on you for going naked on the skin. and revealing your true self,” one woman posted.

“That’s amazing! Your skin looks so good in the after pic, it’s really impressive,” another added.

The treatment, known as skin needling, penetrates deep into the underlying layers of skin, aiding the repair and rejuvenation of troubled areas. Based on acupuncture, and using multiple needles that differ in size, the procedure strengthens the body’s natural wound healing response underneath the skin. This results in the production and distribution of new collagen to help protect your skin, and can be used to smooth wrinkles and lines and improve skin texture, scarring, and stretch marks.

Sanaa said no skin treatment has worked on her since suffering from acne as a teenager.

Earlier this week, Ms Mehajer — who is the younger sister of controversial businessman Salim — revealed details about why her marriage to estranged husband Mouhamed “Moudi” Tajjour broke down.

Ms Mehajer told the Daily Mail that she and Mr Tajjour were the best of friends when they started out, but things turned sour when the couple travelled to Thailand for their honeymoon.

“Basically there was a change in his personality, a change in behaviour and that didn’t coincide with what I expected (as a wife),” she said. “(It) started off with the name calling, so things like ‘s**t’.

“Fights were followed by apologies, followed by aggression again. It was just up and down like a yoyo and it started to get emotionally draining, as you can imagine.”

She told police he started treating “hotel staff and herself with a lack of respect ... swearing and abusing them”. She also said Tajjour started calling her a “rat” and a “slut” via text messages.

The 22-year-old said she then decided to end the relationship and return to Australia on her own.

“It made me question my self-worth,” she said of the abuse. “I was raised in a family where my parents taught me to love myself ... and I was like: “Why was I feeling so great about myself and I got married and suddenly I’m feeling like a piece of s**t?”

“I knew that it was over the day he called me a s**t and I knew that it would only get worse from there, and it did.”

The couple reunited on Valentine’s Day in February and agreed “to live together to see if they could fix their marriage”, according to court documents.

But within weeks the pair fell out again and Ms Mehajer says they began arguing while in Tajjour’s car.

She claimed he pulled her back into the vehicle by her hair as she tried to get out.

After the incident, Ms Mehajer moved back into her parents’ Lidcombe home. She claimed the bikie continued to torture her over social media.

It was when Ms Mehajer finally retaliated that things were taken up a notch.

She said she reported the posts he’d published about her on Instagram, saying she felt she had to “go to his level to make him stop”.

In retaliation, he launched a 50-second expletive-ridden tirade against her on the social media platform, saying he was near her parents’ home.

According to court papers, her father confronted Tajjour on the front lawn.

He allegedly said to Mr Mehajer in Arabic: “Do you want me to shoot her?”

Ms Mehajer ended up taking out an AVO, saying “he shouldn’t be allowed to do what he wants and dictate my life”.

“I felt like everything was on his terms, I wanted to control my life again,” she told the Daily Mail.
