PLAYBOY model Dani Mathers has been slammed for posting a Snapchat image fat-shaming a naked woman at her gym.
IF THERE’S one thing we can agree on, it’s that no-one likes stripping off at the gym.
Even though everyone’s in the same boat, there’s something horrifying about baring your flesh in front of a room full of other people — especially if their bodies are tight and toned.
In fact, can you think of anything worse than getting changed in front of a Playboy model? Well, as it happens yes — doing that and then having your body beamed out on Snapchat.
That’s what happened to one woman who found herself in the same space as 2015’s “Playmate Of The Year” Dani Mathers.
Dani decided to poke fun at the woman’s shape, in a move she seemed to almost immediately regret.
She took a picture of the naked woman and spliced it with one of herself, seemingly struggling to contain her laughter.
“If I can’t unsee this then you can’t either,” the 29-year-old captioned it.
It seems Dani had no idea how ill thought out her body shaming of the woman was, but people were quick to let her know.
The backlash was quick fearsome, with Dani deleting the picture when she realised what she’d done.
Twitter user Hollie Taylor wrote: “It’s people like you that make others feel uneasy about changing openly in locker rooms. appalling.”
Others called Dani’s actions “heartbreaking”, with a user called The Random Man adding: “You owe that girl an apology!”
She seemed to take heed, and quickly used Twitter to explain how much she regretted her actions.
“I want to acknowledge my post from snapchat earlier,” she wrote, although her account has now been deactivated.
“There is no excuse … I understand fully the magnitude of this post and that I have hurt a lot of people, women.
“Body shaming is not OK and is nothing to joke about … This was meant to be a part of a private conversation that never should have happened.
“I’m sorry for what I did … I need to take some time to myself now to reflect on why I did this horrible thing.”
Many suggested Dani had only apologised because the picture was made public.
Keen to show how much she regretted her actions, the model also issued a full comment on what happened on Snapchat.
She said: “I just want to acknowledge a photo that I accidentally posted.
“It was absolutely wrong and not what I meant to do.
“I chose to do what I do for a living because I love the female body and I know body shaming is wrong, that’s not what I’m about and this is not the type of person I am.
“The photo was taken as part of a personal conversation with a girlfriend and because I am new to Snapchat I didn’t realise I had posted it, and that was a huge mistake.
“I know I have upset a lot of people out there but please believe me this is not the type of person that I am. I have never done this before and I will never do this again, you have my word.”
