Phoebe Burgess unveils new look after Trinny Woodall remark
Phoebe Burgess has undergone a makeover after being told her look was “dated” by famous British style guru Trinny Woodall.
She’s the original no-nonsense queen of advice – but during a recent trip Down Under, Trinny Woodall took aim at a popular Australian star.
Phoebe Burgess revealed the British style guru turned beauty entrepreneur recently made a frank remark about her make-up when the pair met – prompting her to undergo a swift transformation.
The mum-of-two told shared Trinny’s brutally honest comment and unveiled her “fresh” new look in a recent Instagram post, leaving fans in awe.

“Sooooo, when someone like Trinny @trinnywoodall tells you – to your bronzed face – that your make up ‘look’ is dated – take the advice,” she wrote.
“So, long story short, this is me freshening up my make-up routine that hadn’t budged since 2014 – which means ditching the heavy-handed bronzing vibe I was married to and embracing fresher techniques.
“Hello damp sponges & foundation dipped in water, all learnt on TikTok or reels & playing with natural-feeling colour …. It’s definitely a WIP [work in progress].”
Alongside her post, Phoebe shared a series of snaps showing off her make-up transformation – all of which show the 33-year-old with a gleaming smile across her face.
The star’s 87,000 followers were quick to comment on her “fresh” new look, labelling it “stunning”.
“Congrats on taking the first step toward bronzer recovery,” one noted.
“Stunning! Your skin looks amazing,” another said.
As one admitted: “I’m an over bronzer and don’t think I can stop haha. It’s my safety blanket.”
Others asked Phoebe to share a tutorial and list the products she used, as one said: “Now I am concerned my look is dated. I have zero clues!”
In an earlier post shared following their chat for Phoebe’s podcast Under The Gloss, she revealed she “cried very real tears” and described being “spanked” by Trinny.
“I came home with a brand new Trinny London routine too,” she added.
While Phoebe hasn’t shared the exact items she used for her make-up overhaul, Trinny – who launched Trinny London in 2017 – previously told news.com.au she created her line “because a lot of women get stuck in their make-up and they don’t know what else to”.
The brand has expanded from sackable make-up products to now include skincare as well as a few “skincare make-up hybrids” Trinny London is now famed for.
One of the brand’s cult-products is the BFF De-Stress, a tinted serum that “defends and manages the appearance of stress on your skin” which retails for $75.
It took Trinny – who shot to fame in 2001 when appearing on What Not To Wear with co-star Susannah Constantine – 30 attempts to get the formula for the product right.
The formula, called NP-TriOXT, is made up of three different complexes – one of which is neurophroline, an exciting new active ingredient that is said to be able to block the production of cortisol and something Trinny said will help “counteract all of those stresses”.
“It’s a skincare make-up hybrid that has a much higher percentage of active ingredients compared to anything in the market,” she told news.com.au’s The Beauty Diary in October 2020.
“And as a result of that, the ingredients do actually help to protect and improve your skin.”
The 58-year-old follows her own advice “religiously”, never missing a skincare step and travelling everywhere with her stackable make-up range.
“I clean my skin with the balm (Be Your Best) and I use our PHA (Better Off) in the morning. Of all the skincare, Plump Up is probably my ‘couldn’t live without’ product,” she said.
“Even though you should always clean your skin, it (Plump Up) makes such a fundamental, immediate and long-term change on the skin.
“It’s the only one in the range that has that immediate and long term effect – it’s an amazing product.
“I can’t live without BFF SPF, because I have to put SPF on my face every day and I need that tiny evenness of skin tone – even if I just walk out the door. Remember, with products containing SPF, always read the label.
“See directions for use. Avoid prolonged exposure in the sun and wear protective clothing, hats and eyewear when exposed to the sun. Frequent reapplication is required for effective sun protection.
“And Lip2Cheek, because I have certain shades like Veebee that I put on my lip, cheek and eye, and then I put some lip balm on top and I’m done for the day. It’s so easy.”
