People are comparing Sephora’s new makeup sponge to something very rude

It costs just $15 but that’s not why the popular beauty retailer’s latest product is getting so much attention.

SEPHORA has been ridiculed online after it launched a set of make-up sponges that look like something very rude.

Beauty fans were quick to point out the new sponges look a lot like a penis, and the beige colour probably doesn’t help either.

The sponges, available in the United States and Britain but currently not listed on the Australian website, are part of the brand’s Ocean Crush collection and are supposed to look like seashells.

The pack of two sponges costs £8.43 ($AU15).

The website describes them as: “A set of two seashell makeup sponges that apply and blend beautifully for a flawless makeup finish.”

But people were quick to point out its cheeky design flaw.

One person left a review online, saying: “I don’t even know where to go with this one.....”

Another person posted a photo of the sponges on Twitter, and wrote: “OMG I’m going to Sephora right now to pick up their new penis sponge! YAY!”

Another person wrote: “I’m sorry but I can’t get on board with this design flaw.”

Despite its questionable appearance, the limited edition sponges have received more than 1399 likes on Sephora’s website.
