A SUPERMARKET brand that retails for less than $30 has won a prestigious award at the annual My Face, My Body Global Aesthetic Awards.
A SUPERMARKET product that retails for less than $30 has won a prestigious award at the annual My Face, My Body Global Aesthetic Awards.
Nivea’s Q10 Plus Anti-Wrinkle Replenishing Pearls, which retails for $29.99 at supermarkets and chemists across the country, was crowned the joint winner of the Most Innovative product at the ceremony — and was one of the only budget brands in contention.
The product, which is concentrated Coenzyme Q10 pearls surrounded in a deep moisturising hydrogel of Hyaluronic Acid and Creatine, took out the award alongside Retriderm by Dermocosmetica.
The Nivea product claims to be a highly powerful anti-ageing combination that repairs, protects and renews the skin. The product is the first in the mass beauty market to contain Coenzyme Q10, which is essential for the skin’s energy production.
Seen as the ‘Oscars’ of the aesthetic industry, the My Face, My Body Awards Australasia were held in Sydney’s Sofitel ballroom on Saturday with guests including Brynne Edelsten, Kris Smith and reality television stars Keira Maguire and Michael Turnbull.
The awards claim to be “the only consumer awards dedicated to the aesthetic industry to recognise and reward brands for their product innovation and popularity”.
For Nivea to take out the award of Most Innovative Product, the Q10 Plus Anti-Wrinkle Replenishing Pearls had to meet four key categories:
1. Innovation — have you met the needs of an previously unmet market? Is the technology behind your product unique?
2. Efficacy
3. Ease of use
4. Launch Strategy — Did you create media awareness? Can you demonstrate how this impacted the end consumer?
“It was decided that it [NIVEA product] was truly innovative as it is very results focused for a supermarket product,” My Face, My Body judge and Vogue’s Beauty Editor-at-Large, Ricky Allen told news.com.au.
“It was able to prove definitive improvements with its data as well, and it also had a very positive client base who were very happy with their results.”
