How to get rich girl hair
YOU know those girls who just roll out of bed with effortless, tumbling locks, looking both put-together but undone at the same time? (I know, they’re so annoying). Here’s how to get rich girl hair.
EVERY woman knows a lady with rich girl hair. And you probably hate her for it.
You know those girls who just roll out of bed with effortless, tumbling locks, looking both put-together but undone at the same time? (I know, they’re so annoying).
In my quest to have bouncy tresses just like Blake Lively and the Duchess of Cambridge, I asked Renya Xydis, owner of Valonz hairdresser in Sydney, how I can turn my ratty mane into something resembling the divine Serena van der Woodsen.
“‘Rich girl hair’ is all about enhancing the natural movement and texture of your hair with just the right amount of polish,” Ms Xydis says.
“I think a lot of women have moved away from perfectly blow-dried hair because of celebrities like Sienna Miller and Emma Stone. At the moment, looking a little ‘undone’ is really sexy, especially with this season’s textured bob, because it leaves more to the imagination.
“There is always an occasion for a perfect blow-dry but there is definitely a large demand for an effortless, tousled look.”
The good news is you don’t need heaps of time, products or styling tools to get this look at home.
“I would definitely recommend prepping the hair with a product that will hydrate and smooth the hair follicle, like WELLA SP Luxe Oil,” Ms Xydis says.
“Then let it air dry to about 80 per cent and spritz it with a salt spray. Tidy up any unruly segments of hair with a blow dryer and then add waves to random sections with a large curling wand. Once you have curled all sections, brush out the waves for a more natural, effortless look.”
