Australian actor Isabel Lucas has come a long way since her days on Home And Away.

The 33-year-old, whose Hollywood credits include Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen and Red Dawn, will film two major projects in the US next year.

“They are both in America, so I am a bit nervous about it,” she told The Courier Mail. “One of them is with Bill Murray, which will be really good.”

But the actor is equally passionate about being an environmental activist.

Lucas is a huge supporter of The Body Shop’s initiative that aims to create “bio-bridges” between some of the world’s most biodiverse habitats.

“I love The Body Shop’s World Bio-Bridges Mission because they help connect isolated habitats, allowing endangered animals and beautiful forests to regenerate,” she told news.com.au. “The mission aims to protect and regenerate (or ‘re-wild’) 75 million square metres of habitat and build 10 bio-bridges by 2020.

“With global warming being very real, we must globally care about our forests and wild habits, because they oxygenate our atmosphere. It is vital we transition from carbon emitting, to carbon neutral, to carbon absorbing now. Aussies have an opportunity to be leaders in this shift.”

Lucas is also conscious of nature and the environment when choosing her beauty products.

“It’s always my first consideration,” she said. “Of course I make compromises, but I’ll always opt for glass over plastic, organic over artificial chemicals or fabrics.

“I’m always drawn to brands and companies that are creative and forward-thinking in their environmental, ethical approach. It’s number one.

“That’s why I love that a percentage of every transaction with The Body Shop during November and December will be donated to the Woodland Trust and World Land Trust to be shared to fund the protection and re-wilding of at least 10 million square metres of land in the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean, UK, and the Caucasus Wildlife refuge in the Ararat province, Armenia.”
