Beauty Diary: Price Attack 2025 Hair Award winners revealed
Shoppers of a cult retailer have taken part in a “first of its kind” vote – with the results giving “real insights into what matters most” to Aussies.
If you feel like you have more “bad hair days” than good, look no further, because I’ve found the solution to your problem.
With so many different hair care products and brands on the market, the hardest part about getting started on a quest for great locks is knowing what items are worth spending your money on, especially in a cost of living crisis.
What brush should I buy if I have fine hair? Do I really need a heat protectant? Is there a tool on the market that can do everything I need in one?
If this sounds like you, then stress no more, because the winners of Price Attack’s 2025 Hair Awards have just been announced, revealing the creme de la creme of hair care products in Australia.
Shoppers of the cult hair retailer have voted in a “first of its kind” competition for the brand, casting their opinion on their favourite buys across 15 different categories, covering everything from shampoos and conditioners to styling tools and serums.
In total there were over 70 products nominated, giving “real insights into what matters most” to Price Attack customers, and revealing the “standout products Australians actually love using”.
“This campaign gave us a clear view of the products our customers truly rely on,” said Ananya Dhyani, Campaign Manager at Price Attack, told news.com.au’s The Beauty Diary.
“The response from our community was phenomenal.
“It’s helped us to build a stronger, more engaged network of hair lovers – and further established Price Attack as a destination for expert-backed, customer-approved hair care.”
PRICE ATTACK 2025 WINNERS I HIGHLY RATE
As a beauty junkie, the results is a perfectly curated shopping list that’s ideal for beginners as well as having some great suggestions for the well-versed hair care consumers who want to try something new.
Naturally, the first thing I did was scour the list and check off the babies I already have in my collection, as there’s nothing more satisfying than knowing you’re ahead of the game.
I was thrilled when I found there were more than a handful of items that are already firm favourites in my hair routine.
Best All Rounder: Shark FlexStyle Air Styling & Drying System
Price: $399.99
The first item was this “all rounder” which I’m obsessed with as it can be used as a hair dryer, a hot brush and a curling tong. This not only clears up counter space, but it also saves money, a detail we more than love in the current economy.
The hair dryer is really powerful and dries wet locks in no time. But I really love the brush attachments that give my hair volume and a va-va-voom finish you usually only get at a salon.
Personally, I love to tuck my ends under for a really chic but simple style, and the round brush made it so easy to create.
Overall, the Shark FlexStyle is really impressive, especially considering it is considerably cheaper than buying a blow-dry brush, curling tong and hair dryer separately.
Best Newcomer: Color WOW Dream Coat Supernatural Spray 200ml
Price: $57.50
Nothing screams ‘I’ve just had my hair done’ more than a glossy shine, and after using this my hair has honestly never been better. It leaves my dry ends super sleek and I love that it’s fragrance free too.
It’s also great for keeping frizz at bay and unlike other gloss treatments it’s not heavy, so my hair doesn’t get greasy after use. A true icon.
Best Brush: Ugly Swan Scream-Free Detangling Brush Maxi Mermaid
Price: $39.95
Who knew that brushing your hair could be stress-free? As someone who has endured fine, insufferable hair for almost four decades now, I’ve long dreaded brushing my hair – especially when it is knotty.
The first time I used this, I was blown away. It doesn’t snag at all and leaves me with sleek, smooth hair every time. It’s hands down the best brush I’ve ever used.
Best Straightener: CLOUD NINE 2-in-1 Contouring Iron Pro
Price: $399.20
I only started using this straightener a few months ago, and I’ve been so impressed with it. The device itself is really lightweight and I love that it heats up to my desired temperature really quickly.
The plates are really smooth and glide through my hair, and after use, my locks don’t feel dried out at all, in fact they feel really soft and glossy.
There were of course a whole bunch of products in the Price Attack’s 2025 Hair Awards winners that I’ve yet to try which have immediately been added to my wish list, because clearly, I’m missing out here.
