AUSTRALIAN beauty blogger, Lauren Curtis, has given a no holds barred insight into getting lip injections … showing the procedure doesn’t always go to plan.

Ms Curtis created a 15-minute video detailing what happened when she decided to have her pout plumped.

She’d had the procedure twice before and it never went to plan, but she initially had high hopes this time around.

“Very, very happy with how it turned out,” she said as she shows off her new lips.

“I was so stoked when I first saw it in the mirror. I was obviously so nervous about it because I’d had bad experiences before but she did a really, really great job.”

Unfortunately, those feelings didn’t last long.

The following morning Lauren woke up to find her lips incredibly swollen, lumpy and bruised.

While she was expecting some discolouration, she immediately knew something was wrong.

“So it is day two and yeah … don’t really need to say much,” she said.

“It’s kind of like terrifying to be honest.

“Obviously bruising was gonna happen. I actually went back to the place because after the swelling decreased after the first round I noticed there was lumpiness and a bit of unevenness and I sent through photos to the lady who did it and she wanted to get me back in to double check in person and see what she could do.”

Lauren ended up have more injections as she was assured that was the only way to balance her lips.

She was worried though, as she feared with additional filler would make her pout look far too full.

“Now I’m really worried that they’re going to be huge,” she said.

“Last night I was really upset about it, thinking why did I do this? I should have just been happy with what I had before.

“At this point I’m definitely regretting it … I don’t want any of you that are thinking about getting lip injections have it be glamorised by everybody and think it’s some easy procedure … I don’t want you to think there are no risks involved.”

Lauren showed her lips on several more days, and she eventually had further injections of something called hyalase to help dissolve the filler.

By day 23 her lips were also back to normal, which she was happy about — although Lauren was planning a little touch up.

Her main reason for sharing her journey was to make women think more carefully before having a cosmetic procedure.

“Just because you see celebrities or YouTubers or Instagrammers with these procedures done doesn’t mean it’s going to look the same on you,” she said.

“Don’t do it because of any other reason besides you really feel it will increase your confidence. Just be sure that it’s worth the risk.”
