There’s nothing worse than getting an angry red spot.

And as anyone who has ever suffered with the cruel taunt of a brutal pimple will know, they seem to have impeccable timing, showing up right before a wedding or a big job interview. Charming.

However, a new product dubbed a “pimple patch” has sent fans into a spin after it sold out just hours after it launched online.

Vice Reversa is a “micro needling blemish blaster” that is designed to get rid of your pesky spots fast.

But if you’re thinking this is just like the old toothpaste trick, or remembering all those times you doused your zit in tea tree oil as an acne-prone teen, think again.

Spot treatments have come a long way, with this patch containing thousands of microscopic active ingredients that have been formed into “fine needles”.

Once you apply the flesh-coloured patch to the affected area, the micro needles then penetrate the spot and essentially inject the ingredients where they’re needed to nourish and replenish the cells.

Sounds very scientific. But judging from the sales of this $39 item, which is on sale in Priceline, these things actually work.

Aussie beauty influencer, Chloe Morello, has even been seen wearing hers “out and about” while completing chores

“I’ve had this pimple under my skin for the past week … I don’t know what they’re from but they’re under the skin and never come to a head, and it sometimes takes over a month to get rid of them,” she told fans recently.

“I (usually) have to go to the skin clinic to get removed. So I’m trying these new pimple patches I’ve actually had for a while.”

After bravely rocking the patch in public, she told her 1.1 million fans her pimple was “a little bit smaller”.

The other benefit, aside from being able to treat the spot directly, is it prevents you from spreading bacteria to it from picking and touching.

According to the brand’s website, the results come from your spot being “plumped” with collagen and peptides in the patch.

Rave reviews on social media include one user calling them “the best invention ever”.
