A woman took a valium and got stuck in a bath and hilariously live-blogged the whole ordeal
THIS cautionary tale shows why you shouldn’t take a valium and then attempt a home spa treatment involving coconut oil.
IT’S happened to the best of us. You’ve had a glass or two of wine and decided to do some kind of beauty maintenance at home.
Perhaps you’ve decided to pluck your eyebrows while sloshed (bad idea) or paint your toenails while tipsy (also ill-advised but much easier to fix the next day).
One woman went down this dangerous path last week and found herself in a greasy pickle after taking some antibiotics and a valium and deciding to do a home spa treatment.
And the good news for us is that she decided to live blog the whole debacle on imgur.
The Aussie woman, known only as ‘Denshan’, explained she was off work sick with a chest infection and fever when she decided to try out a “home beauty remedy” by adding coconut oil to her relaxing bath.

“Here is a funny and current story. I am stuck in a bath. I can’t actually get out of my bath tub. Why? I’ve got a chest infection and some fever so I’m home sick. I also can’t turn my head. Took some antibiotics and a Valium and thought — I will have a relaxing bath. I found some bath salts. Lit some candles and poured in some coconut oil — now I am realising it was too much coconut oil. Went to get out after pulling the plug and I just slide around like a giant greased up potato in a roasting dish. There is no traction. No grip. Just me and my fat body slipping around covered in oil. F*** home beauty remedies. SOS”
The post instantly went viral, with half a million people viewing her post.
Hundreds of imgur users offered up advice.
One wrote: “Flop your arms over the side of the top and ooze out of it like a zoidberg.”
Another suggested: “Fill it again, the oil will float and you can exit by standing up.”
“Slide side to side until you build enough momentum to slide out,” suggested JustDanForNow.
A slightly less helpful user told her: “You’re gonna need at least 50 lbs of sand. Have it dumped next to the tub so you can beach yourself” and one pointed out: “You didn’t chose the Tub life, the Tub life chose you.”
Meanwhile others were distracted by her feet, with several asking if she had broken her ankle.
After half an hour of battling, Denshan posted an update, informing the concerned imgur community she had escaped by “refilling with water and cleaning the bath with (a) closet soap-like product”.
She concluded that her blunder was “white girl idiocy at its greatest”.
