Easy style the new 'in' do

DELTA Goodrem has the right idea. The easy, shaggy cut is the new 'in' do this season, with women sick of spending hours styling their hair.

WOMEN are taking shortcuts with their hair, opting for modern shaggy looks that style themselves.

Following the hair heroism of Alexa Chung and Delta Goodrem, the layered look is set to replace Anne Hathaway and Miley Cyrus' pixie cuts as the must-have hairdo of the season.

Biba creative director, and Australian Hairdresser of the Year Frank Apostolopoulos, says that the popular new style is a reflection of the modern woman's lifestyle.

"Gone are the days of women having the time to blow-dry their hair into perfectly stiff looks to achieve style and volume. Nowadays edgy, textural bobs are cut to naturally create volume and style,'' he said.

"The idea is that running your hands through your hair and even sleeping on it will add to the sexy, undone, rock 'n' roll feel of the cut.

"There is no need for styling tools, straighteners or products, which also saves time and money.''

Model Perrie bravely agreed to the chop, saying she was keen for a change.

"For six months, I have thought about whether I wanted to do it. I can't believe how much lighter and freer I feel now,'' she said after the cut.
