Woman’s regret after having ‘shocking’ butt lift as teenager

Sophie Elise was only 19 when she went under the knife in a bid to boost her booty — but five years on she’s living with the “shocking” results.

Cosmetic surgery disasters: Here’s why you shouldn’t get work done overseas

A YouTube star has revealed her plans to reduce the size of her “unnatural” bum following a “cheap” butt lift she now massively regrets.

Sophie Elise, 24, wrote online how she felt major remorse about her decision to undergo the cosmetic surgery procedure in Turkey when she was just 19 years old, explaining she’s heading to Los Angeles in the US to have the bum lift reversed.

Sophie, a singer from Norway who runs a popular YouTube channel and has 400k Instagram followers, opened up about her “shocking” experience of having the surgery as a teenager on her blog in a bid to stop others making the same mistake.

She said the “unnatural” result should be a “wake up call” for others tempted by the lowest priced option, according to a report in The Sun.

“I’m tired of having an a** which doesn’t look natural. I didn’t think about consistency and what I’d want to look like at 50-years-old,” the social media star said.

“Now that I’m older, I think in a completely different way and the choices I make, whether physical or mental, should be ones I can live with forever.”

The social media star regularly flaunts her figure on her Instagram account, sharing racy nude snaps with fans and cheeky photos of her booty.

Sophie, who recently also revealed she’d had a breast reduction after having them boosted previously, warned against cheap options and said she would now keep details of her surgeries “private”.

“I should have kept it private,” the star wrote. “But I have to blame myself when I’ve already dragged (my fans) into the process.

“So I have concluded not to share as much of this surgery. No before or after pictures and no documentation of pain and the experience itself.”

Brazilian butt lifts are available in Australia and have become more popular in recent years after being inspired by “bootylicious” celebrities and social media stars such as the Kardashians, Jennifer Lopez and Beyonce — but some experts warn against it.

“Not only is it potentially dangerous, it is not attractive and does not provide balance or harmony and therefore exhibits poor cosmetic outcome,” cosmetic surgeon Dr Meaghan Heckenberg, from Be Sculptured told news.com.au.

“It has the highest death rate of any cosmetic procedure, with approximately 1 in 3000 dying on the operating table or in recovery. This is unacceptable for any cosmetic elective procedure.

“Patients are dying because the fat injected is taken up by the veins in the buttocks muscles and travelling directly to the lungs and heart.”

The risky operation, which can cost as much as $14,000, has raised alarms in the past after a number of complications and even deaths.

According to the Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ASAPS), the mortality rate for BBLs is estimated to be one in every 3000 operations — meaning it has a higher rate of death than any other cosmetic procedure.
