A Victorian women says having big boobs has left her feeling like an “alien”, revealing her plans to have her H-cup breasts reduced to a D.

Paula Williams appeared on This Time Next Year with a pledge that took host Karl Stefanovic by surprise — “This time next year I will have the boobs that I have always wanted.”

She said: “They’re a H cup, so basically you could put the cup of my bra on your head as a hat.”

Mrs Williams, from Gippsland, explained that her breasts “tend to enter the room before I do” and were having an immensely negative impact on her life.

“As a pre-teen I started to develop quite early. I skipped over A, B, C, D and then just kept going,” she said.

“It’s really uncomfortable, I’ve got horrible back pain, shoulder pain. Things like going for a run with my kids, I’ve got to make sure that I’m well strapped in.

“So just that spontaneous play in the park and things like that really get impacted.”

Having a H-cup had “definitely” impacted her self-esteem too, with Mrs Williams saying she hated the attention they received.

“The way some people look at them it’s almost like I’m an alien. It is hard, yeah,” she said.

While she jokingly admitted her husband Chris was “very sad” about her breast reduction plans, Mrs Williams said she was committed to going through with the surgery.

“I want to feel good, I want to feel human … it will change (my life) so dramatically,” she said. “Now having my own family, I need to be here for them. I would just love to be able to do things a little bit more spontaneously.”

This Time Next Year showed Mrs Williams undergoing her surgery, with her plastic surgeon Dean White explaining that her predicament wasn’t uncommon.

“A lot of people don’t quite appreciate just how much discomfort women with bigger breasts are in,” he said.

“The goals of the surgery, from my point of view, are obviously to significantly decrease the weight.”

During the surgery, Dr White removed tissue weighing “nearly a kilogram off each side” and said he expected the results would be “significantly life changing for her”.

Returning to This Time Next Year 12 months later, Mrs Williams had tears in her eyes as she

told Stefanovic how the breast reduction had impacted her life.

“I can feel people better, (I’m) cuddling my kids differently,” she said. “I no longer have to worry about when I’m at the park and my kids run off and I’ve got to run after them and I have to hold myself because if I don’t have my sports bra on … I just feel better.”

But Mrs Williams wasn’t done fulfilling her pledge, telling Stefanovic there was one more thing she wanted to do.

“I’d actually really like to burn my bra,” she said, lighting one of her old bras on fire with glee.
