Over the course of a year, this actor’s appearance has changed dramatically

PICTURES of the actor arriving at a restaurant in Hollywood have raised eyebrows.

ACTOR Melanie Griffith is almost unrecognisable in paparazzi pictures of her arriving at a restaurant on Hollywood.

Her dramatically different appearance has sparked speculation that she has undergone more cosmetic surgery.

Earlier this year, Griffith opened up about her past struggles with sobriety and her headline-making surgery.

The 59-year-old star told Porter magazine that she did her best to focus on her children despite her substance abuse issues through the years.

“I was a totally functioning mum. I wasn’t like a drunk-on-the-floor, out-of-it person,” Griffith said in the new issue, out Friday, according to People magazine. “I didn’t do some things I probably should have done but, mostly, I was there for my kids. They had a sort of privileged gypsy life.”

Griffith first went to rehab in 1988 after admitting she struggled with an alcohol and cocaine addiction. She most recently re-entered rehab in 2009.

She has three children: Alexander Bauer, Stella Banderas and “Fifty Shades of Grey” star Dakota Johnson.

Griffith told the magazine of Dakota Johnson’s father, “Don was actually waiting for me when I got out of rehab [the first time]. We got back together; it was the most natural, perfect, loving thing. Then it just sort of wasn’t working. I think it’s hard when you are both in the public eye, unless one of you gives up work.”

She blames herself from her split from Antonio Banderas. Her marriage to the movie star ended in 2014.

“I think part of the reason my marriage to Antonio fell apart was because I was stuck; nobody else is to blame. It’s just that I personally got stuck and I won’t let that happen again, I want to enjoy life, I want to do whatever I want to do,” she revealed.

As for her looks through the years, Griffith revealed to Porter she was unaware of her drastic face change until people started reacting to it.

“… I didn’t [realise] until people started saying. ‘Oh my god, what has she done?!’ I was so hurt I went to a different doctor and he started dissolving all of this s--t that this other woman doctor had put in,” she dished. “Hopefully, I look more normal now.”

These days, Griffith hasn’t been dating very much.

She revealed, “I’m shy with men now, very reticent … nobody has asked me on a date [for almost two years].”
