As a daycare worker, I can't believe what some parents dress their kids in
"Those high tops are probably my number one reason for leaving daycares," one ex-worker joked, or maybe not...
A daycare worker has shared the four things she's come to resent working in childcare, and parents: please take note.
The 27-year-old mum, Lucy, shared the now-viral clip with the caption, "If you know, you know."
And the 138k likes and over a thousand comments revealed that many parents and fellow childcare workers indeed, know.

High-tops are a no-go zone
In the video, she wrote: "Things I have grown to hate since working in childcare."
First out of the gate, high-tops are apparently a no-go zone, specifically Converse. They're impractical and hard to get on and off.
Next up, dungarees (or overalls). We understand why- they're fiddly to undo when helping kids go to the bathroom.
She also called out "designer clothing that can't get dirty," as it's annoying when kids inevitably want to play, paint and get dirty.
And lastly, she said, "little toys that will 100% get lost."

"I was a daycare worker but I still dress my daughter in these"
TikTokers were keen to express their shared frustration, but some admitted that they were guilty of bringing their little ones to daycare wearing some of these items.
"My daughter starts daycare in September, mental note made," one mum wrote.
Another shared, "As a mum, I literally avoid all of these when sending my daughter as I can only imagine the stress."
And this woman admitted, "I worked in a daycare and all these things bugged me, yet I still send my daughter to her nursery in all these things."
"Those high tops are probably my number one reason for leaving daycares," another ex-worker joked, or maybe not...
Someone else agreed, saying "Oh the stress of high-top shoes! They just don't go on."
"Any kind of laced shoes for that matter," another chimed in. "Velcro for the win!"
Someone else suggested Lucy add something else to her list: "Parents not packing enough knickers/pants for potty training children. Not enough socks either."

And another person shared their own horror story: "I once had a kid come to my daycare and his parents would dress him in tight skinny jeans with lace-up high top Converse and use pull-ups."
"The worst combo," Lucy replied.
