John, you had one job: Travolta’s stuff-up at the 2014 Academy Awards

JOHN Travolta made an appearance at the Academy Awards to introduce singer Idina Menzel — and bungled it spectacularly.

JOHN Travolta made a special appearance at today’s Academy Awards, introducing a performance by singer and actor Idina Menzel.

The only problem? He didn’t seem to have any idea how to pronounce her name.

Menzel performed the show-stopping ballad Let It Go from the hit animated film Frozen, which had a successful night at the awards, taking home gongs for Best Animated Film and Best Original Song.

But Menzel had to perform after possibly the world’s worst intro, as Travolta introduced her as “the talented, the one and only, Adaley Darzeen.”

John, maybe you should’ve given your lines a once-over backstage?

News_Rich_Media: John Travolta mangles the name of singer Idina Menzel just before her performance at the Oscars.

There’s already a parody Twitter account set up in the wake of Travolta’s bungled intro - and they’ve been quick to send out a thank-you to the star:
