Rakesh Agrawal blames new Android phone for late-night Twitter rant at PayPal colleagues

A PAYPAL executive who went on a late night Twitter tirade aimed at his colleagues has blamed a new Android phone for his vitriolic spray.
Rakesh Agrawal, whose Twitter bio lists him as PayPal’s director of strategy, claimed the profane tweets were meant to be a private message for another colleague.
But he insisted it was all his new device's fault, blaming his phone’s interface for the now-deleted tweets being public.
His early morning tweets started off calmly enough with him revealing how excited he was to be in New Orleans for the jazz festival.
But he soon launched into an attack on PayPal’s vice president of global communications Christina Smedley calling her a useless middle manager and a piece of s***.
It got much worse from there.
He appeared to call for sackings with this obscure tweet: “People who should be fire from PayPal Don Christmas a pool a kick”.
The executive even posted a picture where he was sticking his finger up, and said: “I can’t wait to explain ths. @dens @arainert you know what I’m talking about.”
Mr Agrawal soon realised his error and explained the obscure posts.
Unfortunately, the excuse didn’t sit too well with his employer, with PayPal since tweeting that he had been fired.
For his part, he claims he resigned.
But despite the tirade and losing his job, Mr Agrawal didn’t seem too bothered with all the attention, revealing it’s still business as usual.
He even had time to catch up with mates.
And he’s not letting a small Twitter tirade get in the way of work either and posted updates of his adventures across the city.
His actions won him few fans on the Twittersphere.
However, some users questioned whether ‘firing’ someone over Twitter was the professional way to handle things either.
