Welcome back to our live coverage of the US election campaign.

The final debate between Donald Trump and Joe Biden is tomorrow, and the Democratic nominee is still off the campaign trail preparing.

It's a long hiatus from campaigning for Mr Biden, particularly when you consider there are less than two weeks left before election day.

However, one particularly big name in the Democratic Party did return to the trail today. Mr Biden's former boss, Barack Obama, made his first campaign appearance, in the crucial swing state of Pennsylvania.

He went after President Trump directly, slamming his record on the coronavirus pandemic and the economy.

"I want to be honest here. This pandemic would have been challenging for any president," said Mr Obama.

"But this idea that somehow this White House has done anything but completely screw this up is just not true."

Mr Trump is holding a rally of his own this evening, US time, which we will cover live.
