Roxy Jacenko takes lookalike nanny to Hawaii on family holiday

HER husband is in jail, but that hasn’t stopped PR queen Roxy Jacenko from enjoying a family holiday in Hawaii — with the help of a nanny.

ROXY Jacenko is shaking off the 2016 blues, kicking back on the beach in Hawaii with her two children — and a nanny.

While husband Oliver Curtis languishes in Cooma prison after losing his appeal against a conspiracy to commit insider trading conviction, the controversial PR queen is enjoying a family holiday with the help of a lookalike Sweaty Betty staffer.

Jacenko, who was forced to readjust her expectations after telling children Pixie and Hunter that their father “would be home before Christmas”, has made every effort to maintain a sense of normalcy over the silly season, posting smiling photographs of herself with the kids on social media.

But while other mums rely on their “Instagram husbands” to hold the camera phone, Jacenko calls upon junior publicist Gemma Oldfield, who has doubled as a nanny during the tropical getaway.

The young, bubbly blonde could almost pass for Jacenko herself in an image posted on her own Instagram account, in which she cares for Curtis in the swimming pool.

“Lucky I have my bronze medallion,” commented Ms Oldfield, who sports a New York Yankees baseball cap favoured by Jacenko.

The former radio journalist showed every indication she was enjoying her working holiday, appearing in a snap captioned “girls gone wild” showing the pair drinking cocktails at a Honolulu hotel.

Her appointment as a stand-in carer comes after Jacenko’s previous nanny Camille Sweeney resigned, leaving Curtis as the children’s primary caregiver.

Jacenko detailed her struggle to find a new nanny in her letter to the NSW Supreme Court in June, when she begged Justice Lucy McCallum to spare her husband jail time.

“Our current nanny, who attends to the school drop off and pick up of the kids as well as general shopping has been with us for some time as she completed her nursing studies. She also travelled with us on family holidays so that I can continue to work remotely and so that Oli can have a break,” Jacenko wrote.

“However, she is leaving us in August to pursue a fulltime nursing career. This has been a pre-planned arrangement that we have known about for some time. We have advertised on multiple employment sites for a suitable replacement and are still attempting to find someone who can work the hours required, and provide a longer term commitment.”

The letter described how Jacenko worked “24 hours, seven days a week” to service her PR clients, leaving Curtis with the bulk of childcare responsibilities, with some help from her mother Doreen Jacenko.

“He is generally the one who is home to ensure that they have dinner, are bathed and put to bed,” she wrote.

But her plea fell on deaf ears, with Justice McCallum sentencing Curtis to a minimum one year in prison.

“I do not think any lesser sentence would be adequate,” she said at the time, explaining that a custodial sentence was necessary to deter others from committing white collar crimes, which were notoriously difficult to detect and prosecute.

Now at the halfway point of his detention, Jacenko will no doubt be counting down the days until her husband’s release.
