Mhairi Black has become the youngest UK MP in 300 years
Mhairi Black, 20, has become Britain’s youngest MP in 300 years and is being touted as the future of British politics.
THE Scottish National Party’s Mhairi Black, 20, has been elected in the seat of Paisley and Renfrewshire South in Scotland, becoming the youngest British MP in 300 years.
The seat was previously held by the Shadow Foreign Secretary, Labour’s Douglas Alexander.
With her thick Scottish accent, “firebrand” reputation and a strong campaign for independence, she’ll inevitably draw comparisons to William Wallace.
Black, a university student, is also preparing to sit her final exams at Glasgow University, where she studies politics.
