Lauren Boebert blasted as ‘embarrassing bimbo’ over Beetlejuice incident
A prominent US politician who caused a huge scene while on a date at a musical has been blasted by her fellow conservatives.
Conservative women are lashing out at Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert over her wild antics at a theatre.
The Colorado politician made headlines after she was kicked out of the Buell Theatre in Denver where the musical Beetlejuice was being performed last weekend.
She was booted out of the touring Broadway show for vaping and was also filmed grabbing her date’s crouch.
Footage also showed her breasts being fondled overtly by her date Quinn Gallagher. The musical is advertised as a family-friendly event for children 10 and older.
At first Boebert tried to downplay the incident, admitting she had been kicked out but denying that she had been vaping.
She wrote on social media: “It’s true, I did thoroughly enjoy the AMAZING Beetlejuice at the Buell Theatre and I plead guilty to laughing and singing too loud!
“Everyone should go see it if you get a chance this week and please let me know how it ends!”
But allegations emerged that the politician’s behaviour was less than exemplary.
The drama kicked off when a pregnant woman seated behind Boebert asked her to stop vaping.
Boebert reportedly responded by calling her a “a sad and miserable person”.
When confronted by staff, Boebert reportedly initially refused to leave, until she was told police had been called.
As she was being led out by staff members she made statements along the lines of, “do you know who I am” and “I will be contacting the mayor,” according to a statement by the theatre.
Her behaviour was slammed by leading female conservative commentators.
Pundit Ann Coulter wrote on X, “Totally embarrassing bimbo,” and linked a report on the theatre incident by the New York Post.
Conservative lawyer Jenna Ellis, who at one point represented Donald Trump, also stuck the boot in.
“Lauren Boebert getting kicked out of the Buell Theatre in Denver for being loud, disruptive, vaping, and video recording after being asked multiple times to stop is embarrassing and disrespectful behaviour from a sitting Congresswoman,” she wrote.
“Good grief Republicans, do better. Congress shouldn’t be a frat house any more than it should be a retirement community.”
Meghan McCain also blasted Boebert writing, “Lauren Boebert is trash. She lectures everyone about the LGBT community being a threat to children while getting caught performing a lewd sex act in a public theatre where children possibly were.”
Boebert later apologised, admitted she had been vaping and blamed the behaviour on her “public and difficult divorce” proceedings.
“The past few days have been difficult and humbling, and I’m truly sorry for the unwanted attention my Sunday evening in Denver has brought to the community,” she said in a statement.
“While none of my actions or words as a private citizen that night were intended to be malicious or meant to cause harm, the reality is they did and I regret that.”
Boebert filed for divorce from her husband of 18 years, Jayson Boebert, in May.
