Furious Trump blows up in defiant post-indictment video

Donald Trump has spoken out for the first time since giving a statement about his indictment, accusing his opposition of being “scared” of him.

Donald Trump shares defiant video message

A defiant Donald Trump has spoken out for the first time since giving his initial statement about his indictment, as he accused the US political elite of being “scared” of him.

In the new video message, Mr Trump appeared flanked by American flags and said he was being attacked because of his fight on behalf of the American people.

“We are now officially a third world country,” he said in the clip.

“No president in the history of our country has been subject to such vicious and disgusting attacks. But they only attack me because I fight for you. It’s very simple.

“They can’t buy me, they can’t control me, and that scares them beyond belief.”

The prerecorded campaign fundraising video came hours before the former president was spotted waving to supporters outside his golf club in West Palm Beach, Florida.

It is just the latest in a string of recent fundraising efforts designed to make money off the back of Mr Trump’s indictment.

Last week, Mr Trump’s campaign to regain the presidency in 2024 began running three different ads that leveraged the indictment and called for his supporters to send cash, according to Facebook’s ad archive.

“The Radical Left – the enemy of the hard-working men and women of this country — have INDICTED me in a disgusting witch hunt,” one Facebook ad run Friday read.

“Please make a contribution of $47 or more by 11:59 P.M. to help DEFEND our movement from the never-ending witch hunts during these dark times – and we’ll send you your very own ‘I Stand with President Trump’ T-shirt for FREE.”

The 11.59 deadline marks the end of the first-quarter fundraising period for all campaigns.

Mr Trump awaits charges for allegedly orchestrating a scheme to pay hush money to adult film actor Stephanie ‘Stormy Daniels’ Clifford.

He will likely dodge a perp walk and handcuffs, but will still be fingerprinted and have his mugshot taken after becoming the first former president ever to face criminal charges.

In a previous lengthy statement, Mr Trump branded the situation a “witch hunt”.

“This is Political Persecution and Election Interference at the highest level in history. From the time I came down the golden escalator at Trump Tower, and even before I was sworn in as your President of the United States, the Radical Left Democrats — the enemy of the hardworking men and women of this Country — have been engaged in a Witch-Hunt to destroy the Make America Great Again movement,” the statement read.

“You remember it just like I do: Russia, Russia, Russia; the Mueller Hoax; Ukraine, Ukraine, Ukraine; Impeachment Hoax 1; Impeachment Hoax 2; the illegal and unconstitutional Mar-a-Lago raid; and now this.

“The Democrats have lied, cheated and stolen in their obsession with trying to ‘Get Trump,’ but now they’ve done the unthinkable — indicting a completely innocent person in an act of blatant Election Interference.

“Never before in our Nation’s history has this been done. The Democrats have cheated countless times over the decades, including spying on my campaign, but weaponising our justice system to punish a political opponent, who just so happens to be a President of the United States and by far the leading Republican candidate for President, has never happened before. Ever.”
