Brexit debate video reveals politician ‘picking his nose and eating it’

The UK is losing it over a foul video that appears to show politician Iain Duncan Smith doing something truly disgusting on live TV.

A conservative UK MP has caused an uproar after been filmed allegedly picking his nose during an emergency Brexit debate.

The footage, which was captured during a late-night Commons debate, appears to show former Conservative Party leader and pro-Brexit politician Iain Duncan Smith with his fingers up his nose — before putting the same fingers in his mouth.

The incident was caught on film by parliament TV, and clips were shared on social media immediately.

Shocked members of the public have widely shared the footage and have expressed their disgust over the video, which they claim shows the 65-year-old “picking his nose and eating it”.

The viral incident has been variously described online as “gross”, “filthy” and “farcical”.

During the same debate, fellow conservative politician Jacob Rees-Mogg also went viral after being caught on camera appearing to fall asleep during the discussions.

Mr Rees-Mogg, who is the leader of the House of Commons, was slammed by fellow MPs and the public alike after he was seen stretched out and slumped across parliament benches during the crisis talks.

Labour MP Anna Turley said Mr Rees-Mogg’s actions were the “physical embodiment of arrogance, entitlement, disrespect and contempt for our parliament”, The Guardian reports, while Green party MP Caroline Lucas and others shouted at him to sit up and pay attention.

“Now, there’s been a lot of talk about democracy tonight and the Leader of the House, who — I have to say — with his body language throughout this evening has been so contemptuous of this house and of the people,” Ms Lucas said, adding he had been “spread across three seats, lying out as if that was something very boring to listen to tonight”.

However, the scandals did provide some much-needed comic relief as the UK’s Brexit crisis worsens.

Yesterday, Britain’s House of Commons was blasted as a “zombie parliament” after it voted for a new law that would demand the country rule out a no-deal exit from the European Union and denied UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s request for a snap election to break the Brexit deadlock.

Mr Johnson has previously said Britain will leave the EU “no ifs and no buts” on October 31, with or without a deal.

The new Prime Minister, who has been in office for just weeks, has now suffered three Commons defeats in just two days.
