THANKS to technology and social media, outgoing US President Barack Obama has likely been photographed more than any leader before him. These are the top shots from his presidency.

BARACK Obama’s presidency was filled with firsts.

The 44th President of the United States of America was the first African-American in the role, and the first President to publicly endorse same-sex marriage.

He was the first president to send a tweet, and the first to visit Cuba since the 1959 revolution.

Barack Obama is also likely to be the first US president to have been photographed fist-bumping a member of the White House cleaning staff, as well as being snapped playing with a toy light sabre on the White House lawn.
