Coffee drinkers more likely to win payrises, promotion and favour with the boss, survey reveals

IT’S a morning ritual as common as brushing your teeth. And it turns out your daily cuppa not only boosts your mind but helps your career too.

The survey found coffee drinkers were more noticeable and trusted by their bosses.

DRINKING coffee not only perks you up mentally but can boost your profile with your boss as well, a new survey has found.

Seven out of 10 bosses revealed they not only trusted coffee drinkers more than non-coffee drinkers but that enjoying a cuppa together helped build rapport.

The survey found 62 per cent of bosses said coffee drinkers were not only more visible to them but were more likely to come to mind when it came to getting a promotion.

Employers said grabbing a cuppa not only helped build trust and a connection with workers but cemented working relationships.

Mobile advertising company inmobi sales director Dave Ticconi said coffee drinkers definitely had an advantage over non-coffee drinkers, especially when it came to snaring an internal role.

“Grabbing a coffee in the office kitchen can often give me an opportunity to get to know employees who are also in there at the time,” he said.

“This gives me more of a connection to them and an advantage over another employee I may have never chatted to outside my office,”

The survey was conducted by a coffee company — Bahati Coffee — so it’s certainly in their interests for you to keep sipping, but the benefits of a cuppa aren’t just limited to the office.

Limiting your coffee intake to 2-3 cups a day has been shown to reduce heart disease risk factors, and acts as a natural mood lifter.
