A NEW online tool claims to be able to automatically analyse your CV and calculate how much much should be paid.

ValueMyCV, offered by job search engine Adzuna, uses text mining to read qualifications from resumes, and to assess work experience in terms of years worked and years in management.

Text mining is commonly used to obtain useful information from the types of words used in a document.

UK’s Metro reports that users can simply upload a CV in PDF format or your LinkedIn profile and the process takes less than half a minute.

It then searches through data on thousands of job postings to work out an estimate of what the salary is for someone of their qualifications.

The site also offers tips on how to improve CVs to ensure they highlight the ‘right’ skills to land you a pay rise and an ‘email my boss’ feature to allow users to send their result to their current employer.

“As the first impression your new employer has of you, it is impossible to overstate the importance of the humble CV,” Adzuna co-founder Andrew Hunter says on the company’s website.

“Spelling mistakes, inconsistent work histories and missing information are all huge red flags for potential employers, and candidates need to take extra care to show their best side to hiring managers if they hope to make it to the interview stage.”
