A man has fallen from an eight-storey building to his death at a construction site in western Sydney in a shocking workplace accident.

A man has died after falling from an eight-storey building at a construction site in Sydney’s west.

The 52-year-old man was reportedly abseiling when he fell just after noon on Thursday.

Emergency crews were called about 12.30pm, but he died at the scene.

WorkCover and police have launched an investigation.

A SafeWork spokesman said the agency has launched an investigation.

“SafeWork is investigating an incident in Liverpool after reports a worker fell from the roof of an eight-storey building and died,” he said.

“SafeWork inspectors are responding and further comment is not available at this time.”

The man has not yet been identified.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
