A man has died after a workplace accident that took place at a Woolworths Facility.
A worker has died after being crushed by falling pallets at a Woolworths facility.
Emergency services rushed to the business on Sargents Road in Minchinbury after the workplace accident was initially reported.
Three men were injured after a number of pallets collapsed, with paramedics taking the group to Westmead Hospital.
A 37-year-old man who was in a critical condition when he was transported passed away in hospital on Wednesday.
The two other men were taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition.
SafeWork NSW have been notified and police will prepare a report for the Coroner.
Primary Connect, Woolworths’ supply chain arm, said it was “deeply saddened by the tragic incident”.
“Our thoughts and condolences are with our team member’s friends and family at this difficult time and we are currently supporting the family and our two team members who were also injured in the incident,” a spokesperson said.
“We are cooperating with NSW Police and SafeWork NSW to investigate the incident and we will also be undertaking our own investigation.”
The distribution centre is currently closed “out of respect” for the workers and their families.
“There may be an impact on supply to some products in some Sydney stores in the next day or two and we thank our customers for their understanding at this time.”
