White House intern faints at Josh Earnest’s briefing on first day on the job
OK. It’s your first day of your big dream job. The eyes of the world are on you. Whatever you do, don’t stuff up....ooh....I feel woozy.
IT WAS a rough first day on the job for one White House intern.
The woman fainted on Tuesday at press secretary Josh Earnest’s briefing, bringing an abrupt end to the daily sparring session with reporters.
But not to worry, the unidentified communications intern was back on her feet shortly after being administered a miracle-working combination of water and M&Ms.
Earnest was about 57 minutes into the briefing and discussing President Obama’s use of executive orders when the young lady, standing against the press room’s south wall, suddenly collapsed into the fifth row of assembled reporters.
The fall caused an immediate stir in the press room and a jolted Earnest said: “Oh goodness.”
Deputy press secretary Eric Schultz rushed water to the woman, and another aide doled out M&Ms.
The intern said she had felt faint earlier in the day, but hadn’t skipped lunch. So she wasn’t sure why she fainted.
