The strangest ways to make extra cash

IF YOU can stomach plucking out someone else’s grey hairs, you might be someone ready to make some quick cash.

WE’VE all tried random ways to make a bit of money on the side and have probably laughed about some of the things we’ve done. Have you ever done any of these?

1. TEST A SUGAR DADDY WEBSITE

One woman needed someone to test the sugar daddy website as a user for $5. The added bonus was you also got a 12 month subscription!

2. STOP A BED FROM SQUEAKING

This man had issues with his bed squeaking when he was “wrestling” on it. In his own words, “I’ve got an old, heavy, wooden bed that squeaks super loud when wrestling on it. the screws don’t really line up properly so it probably needs drilling.” Whoever did it made $60!

Let’s hope he didn’t have to test it afterwards.

3. DO WHAT THE HUBBY REFUSES

Sick of waiting on her husband who was always “accidentally” running out of time to do the yard work, Jasmine offered the job on Airtasker. For $250 someone cleaned up the yard and she got to plant what she wanted.

This makes complete sense to us!

4. SING A SONG

Singing itself isn’t such a random way to make money, plenty of people do it. But one guy knew he messed up and wanted to make it up for his friend by getting someone to sing to them.

Would you do it for $100?

Let’s hope the ‘winner’ could sing!

5. GET PAID TO EAT AND LISTEN

If you’re over 30, you could have had dinner, a chat and been paid $20! One woman needed some extra people at a demonstration and one lucky person got paid plus a free meal. She was also offering vegan options if needed.

Pretty easy way for a free dinner plus cab ride home.

6. DESIGN A DOUGHNUT

Are you a lover of doughnuts and always wanted to create your own? A student was offering $15 for a brain-themed doughnut designed digitally for her uni assignment. I’d love to know what she’s studying that involves doughnuts, brains and design!

Hope the winner got to eat some doughnuts at the end of this one!

7. BE A FAMILY MEMBER AT A BBQ

While the ad says be a “family member”, the job required someone to set up, serve and clean up. Essentially, be the caterer but act more friendly or like you’re part of it all. Not a bad way to make $500 though! Set up while no one is there, cook some snags and say yes when people ask if they can have another drink.

$500 for a few hours work isn’t bad!

8. TWEEZE OUT GREY HAIRS

One woman isn’t a fan of her grey hairs and was willing to pay someone $70 to tweeze out the 50 or so strands she has. Rather than colour her hair, she wants the greys off her head completely and for $70 someone was happy to.

Say what????

9. PRETEND TO BE A POSTMAN

As long as you are OK with a dog jumping at you from the other side of a door, barking and being excited for an hour, this really isn’t that bad. No contact with the actual dog, just helping the owner train him out of his excitement about the postman. $25 for 1 hour of work.

Wonder if a uniform was provided?

10. GET LOVE NOTES

One (amazing) girlfriend wanted photos with a love note in different locations around the world. You’ve probably seen them on social media. Hers were dedicated to her partner, and she wanted them from everywhere. She offered $15 for at least 10 photos.

$15 isn’t going to cover the cost of a taxi to the airport. Let’s hope the winner was good at Photoshop.

11. WRITE A GOSPEL SONG

I’m guessing this man needed forgiveness from someone based on his ad. He offered $40 for someone to write a gospel song based on forgiveness and the power of it. Hey, if you have a way with words, it’s a nice way to make some money.

Get paid for a bit of creativity on the side.
