Man found dead in electrical pit on SA building site
A man has died on a South Australian building site, with the 39-year-old’s likely cause of death revealed.
A South Australian man has died while working on a building site in Adelaide’s inner northeast.
The 39-year-old man from Seaford was found unresponsive inside an electrical pit at a site along North East Rd in Walkerville on Wednesday.
It prompted urgent calls for help, with emergency services arriving at the scene at about 9.30am.
However, the worker from Adelaide’s south died at the scene.
SA Police is now preparing a report for the coroner.
“There are no suspicious circumstances,” a SA Police spokesperson said.
According to 7 News Adelaide, the man suffered an electric shock.
SafeWork SA were advised of the incident.
“SafeWork SA inspectors have attended site and are making inquiries,” a spokesperson said.
“We will not release further information at this time.”
A portion of southbound traffic along North East Rd was closed between Hampstead Rd and St Andrews St while emergency services remained at the scene.
The road has since reopened.
