‘Making the same on weekends’: 32yo reveals why he quit being a tradie
Nath Wyld was slogging his guts out as a tradie when he realised he could make that in one weekend doing something wildly different.
Women aren’t the only ones quitting their jobs to earn money making X-rated content online. The blokes are, too.
Nath Wyld was making $1200 weekly slogging his guts out as a tradie when he realised he could make his weekly wage from just a weekend stripping.
Mr Wyld, 32, worked as a carpenter over a decade ago, and he said his salary “wasn’t that bad” but couldn’t compete with the income he could make as a stripper.
“I was making the same on weekends that I was during the week when I was working as a tradie,” he said.
He estimated he is making about four times what he’d have made if he had stayed doing physical labour and he has not had to put in the rigorous hours.
“It is definitely a lot better,” he told news.com.au.
Mr Wyld, who smoothly transitioned to running a successful OnlyFans account where people subscribe to see particular content from him, has found that his X-rated career has set him up financially.
“Obviously, the extra income means you can save a lot easier. So yes, I’ve definitely been able to save,” he said.
The 32-year-old said he feels more financially secure doing X-rated work than he ever did on building sites.
“I definitely do feel more secure in this career compared to when I was a tradie. Obviously, it makes better money, and it’s been very consistent since I started,” he explained.
“I find this to be a good job and I never really have to worry. I’m very lucky that it’s consistent, because obviously not everybody has that, so I’m very lucky to have it.”
The former tradie said he bought a house in 2023 due to the money he is earning from OnlyFans but he isn’t in a rush to pay off the mortgage.
“I wouldn’t waste money paying off my house quicker. I’d do something else with it that makes me more money, and that might be buying another one,” he said.
“This job has just helped me save more and gives me the opportunity to be able to do something quicker than I would if I was not making as much.”
For Mr Wyld, one of the reasons he loves his job is the lifestyle it allows him to have. He’s no longer getting up at 5am.
“When I first started OnlyFans and I stopped working full time, you could work whenever you wanted,” he said.
“You could do whatever you wanted during the day. For me, that was going to the gym and being able to eat when I wanted and not having to work all day and only eat one sort of thing.
“The lifestyle change was the first positive of this job, and I love that I’m able to do a job when I want, how I want, around whatever else I’m doing, and I have the flexibility of also doing it anywhere I want.”
He also isn’t concerned about any stigma that comes with the job and tells everybody what he does.
“I don’t think anyone’s ever really had a problem with my job and how I make money. If they did, I wouldn’t waste time on them,” he explained.
“I’ve never had a problem with any sort of stigma; I don’t care what anyone’s opinion is on how I make money.
“I don’t have an opinion on how other people make money, so they shouldn’t worry about how I make mine.”
Even though Mr Wyld is financially comfortable now he doesn’t have a grand retirement plan yet.
“I have not looked that far in the future yet. I have no idea when I’m going to finish doing this.”
