Aussie actor Hugh Jackman is known for being an all around good guy and now workers from one Aussie company have seen it first hand.

Australian superstar Hugh Jackman has stunned workers from the iconic Australian boot brand R.M. Williams this Christmas by gifting $1.2 million, with staff set to each receive $1300 in cash.

Jackman, an R.M. Williams global boot ambassador and former shareholder of the company, reportedly dipped into his own pockets for the present to its 900 employees to show his appreciation for workers’ contributions after a tough year, according to The Advertiser.

The Greatest Showman and X-Men star was previously a 5 per cent shareholder at the 88-year-old company but sold his stake in October. R.M. Williams was purchased for almost $200 million as part of a takeover from private investment firm, Tattarang, owned by Australian mining tycoon Andrew “Twiggy” Forrest and his wife Nicola.

Jackman, 51, has not made any public comments about the generous gift. But a spokesman for the private investment firm told The Advertiser: “Tattarang is aware that a former R.M. Williams shareholder has provided staff with a cash gift.”

Earlier this year, Jackman appeared in a cheeky ad for the brand, which delighted viewers after he appeared naked, except for his boots. In the ad, he promised an executive that he would wear nothing but shoes from now on.

R.M. Williams’ products can be found in more than 15 countries with 74 stores and 784 stockists. At the time of the takeover, Dr Forrest said they were proud to bring R.M. Williams back under Australian ownership.
