Bizarre moment office worker smashes broken sprinkler into her own face to make compo claim

OUCH. CCTV footage has captured the bizarre moment an office worker smashed herself in the face with a piece of metal.

AN OFFICE worker smashes herself in the face with a broken fire sprinkler nozzle in bizarre footage released by fraud investigators.

Sheyla Veronica White staged a fake accident to claim compensation from her employer after the piece of metal dropped from the ceiling, The Sun reports.

The video shows her surprise as it lands on her desk near her computer before she picks it up and examines it for a few seconds.

Suddenly she hits herself hard in the forehead and recoils back from the impact, holding her other hand up to the wound.

White hoped to get a payout from her employer’s insurers — but they became suspicious and referred the case to state authorities in Florida, US.

When they looked at CCTV they saw the injury was self-inflicted.

White, of Fort Lauderdale, was convicted of fraud and sentenced to 18 months probation. She was rumbled before the insurers paid out any money.
