THREE men are being rescued from a broken elevator platform perched high outside a Geelong building.

THREE men are being rescued from a broken elevator platform perched high outside a Ryrie St building with the drama closing the busy CBD street to eastbound traffic this morning.

One of the men has injured his hand with the platform dangling about three storeys high on the Barwon Water building.

The crane appears to have toppled, leaving the men on the platform above stranded.

Traffic was closed on the eastbound lanes between Ryrie and Fenwick streets.

Dozens of emergency services have attended the high-angle rescue with the drama starting about 8.45am.

Paramedics treated the man’s injury at the scene.

Dozens of Barwon Water staff are on the street outside with the building either being evacuated or closed.

Police and Worksafe are investigating the accident.
