Australian Islamic State recruiter targets truckers and tradies in new propaganda video

AUSSIE tradies and truck drivers are the latest targets of Islamic State recruiters, with an Australian IS fighter calling on them in a new propaganda video.

AN Australian Islamic State fighter has made a public call for Australians to carry out terror attacks on home soil using nail guns, trucks and petrol in a new propaganda video.

Tradesman and truck drivers are targeted and encouraged to rise up and kill unbelievers, and Australian Muslims are also encouraged to travel to the Philippines to inflict terror.

The online clip features a man identified as Abu Adam, the name believed to have been given to former Melbourne man Mounir Raad.

In the disturbing clip, believed to have been shot in the ruined Syrian city of Raqqa, the IS recruiter sits with an AK-47 assault rifle leaning on the ruined wall beside him.

He recites religious verses before switching to English to instruct followers to join the fight in Philippines.

The man then goes on to instruct terror devotees unable to travel and join the battle fight to “inflict terror” at home.

“Make the lands of the crusaders your battlefied. The are they the frontiers of war,” he says.

“So kill them wherever you find them.”

The Australian man goes on to detail specific methods of terror attacks, offering specific encouragement to tradesmen and truck drivers to use their tools in gruesome methods.

The video, which appears professionally produced, features slick graphics and production methods.

As Abu Adam lists the “weapon of choice” illustrated graphics of a nail gun, truck, and flaming petrol can overlay the screen.

The methods are given the heading “just terror tactics”, which flashes in a bold red on the screen as the presenter lists the horror strategies.

The instructions listed are the most specific and targeted calls publicly issued to Australian Muslims through IS’s global media operation. The video follows an issue of the organisation’s magazine earlier this year, in which Australian terror enthusiasts were urged to list fake ads on sites like Gumtree to lure victims.

The clip also contains the first online call for Australians to travel to the Philippines where the terror group has overrun the city of Marawi.

The city was seized by a militant group claiming links to Islamic State in June.

Nearly 700 people have died in the intense fighting since hundreds of black flag waving gunmen stormed into buildings and homes in the business district and outlying communities of Marawi.

The call for Australians to join the militant action comes as the US reportedly considers a plan to begin air strikes against IS in the east Asian nation.

Defence officials told NBC News the Pentagon is considering conducting drone strikes on the Philippines’ southern islands.

The propaganda video is the second in a new series of short clips called “Inside the Khalifah”.

In another video released last week, an IS jihadist with a British accent urged Muslims all over the world to rise up and join its cause.
