IT HAS a walk-in wardrobe and separate kitchen, but $2.6 million doesn’t stretch far enough to get a separate bedroom in this apartment.

The 87sq m apartment on West 12th Street, in the West Village New York only has three rooms — a grand room, which has a bed in one corner and lounge area, a bathroom and a kitchen.

While there is no separate bedroom in the apartment which costs more than $30,000 a square metre, there is a substantial walk-in wardrobe.

The apartment was designed by architect Robert A.M. Stern.

It has high ceilings, an eat-in kitchen (that’s real estate code for no dining room), there is also plenty of cupboard space.

The building, Superior Ink, has white-glove service with a full-time doorman and concierge and porter.

The apartment is listed through Douglas Elliman Real Estate.

For around the same money in Australia you could buy a three-bedroom apartment in Queen St in the Melbourne CBD.

The apartment, with two bathrooms and two car parking spaces has an asking price of $2.6 million.

The two-level, 290sq m sky terrace has a separate study and private terrace.
