ABC finance expert’s surprising career change
One of the ABC’s top finance presenters is leaving behind journalism after 15 years in the industry.
One of ABC’s top finance presenters is joining a major investment firm in the new year.
After 15 years in journalism, finance presenter Elysse Morgan will join major investment firm Stafford Capital Partners in 2023.
Stafford chair Brett Himbury confirmed Morgan would work with superannuation funds in Australia.
“Elysse Morgan has been investigating and interrogating businesses and business leaders in this country on ABC TV for over a decade,” he said.
“The fact that Elysse is attracted to building the Stafford business in the Australian market is a great outcome.
“In addition, Elysse’s role as a trustee director and her deep involvement in superannuation give rise to her bringing a truly unique experience set.
“Elysse will work with superannuation funds in Australia, as well as other institutional investors, to help them realise their net zero aspirations and deliver great returns for their members.
“Stafford is very committed to growing the business in Australia and Elysse will be central to those efforts.”
Morgan said the opportunity at Stafford was “irresistible”.
“I want to be part of the solution to the climate change challenge, and Stafford is one of the biggest investors in carbon-reducing forestry plantations on the planet,” she said.
“I look forward to joining an organisation with a great culture and strong track record in delivering superior returns across private equity, private debt, timber and infrastructure.”
Stafford Capital Partners was founded in 2000 in Sydney, with London becoming its HQ in 2012 after the appointment of its London-based CEO, Angus Whiteley.
