As cashed-up buyers look north of the bridge, houses in harbour-front Laura St, Seaforth, have recorded a median value of $8,534,792, according to recent figures from RP Data.
The median of properties in Wolseley Rd is $8,033,238.
A mansion at 4 Laura St, sold by eyewear importer Joseph Pascali, was valued at $9 million and, while the sale price is confidential, sources say it is north of $8.5 million.
Several lavish properties are also being built on Laura St.
Property buying and renovations in Wolseley Rd have simply not been active enough to keep up, although it is home to the most expensive property sold in Sydney, the $53 million Villa Veneto.
Three of the highest sales this year have been on the north shore, two in Mosman and one in Palm Beach.
