Why all the boomers are buying in this suburb

Cocktail bars, a world-class golf course, fancy pools — just some of the reasons over-50s are flocking to this Queensland suburb.

Why this could be a bumper spring selling season

Residents have started moving in to the latest release of luxury apartments in the first stage of The Cove in Pelican Waters, as the suburb continues to attract a host of well-heeled retirees.

Built by Evans Built, Corsica is a residential and lifestyle destination, featuring 36 apartments and 15 terrace homes. It’s the latest in a slew of developments under construction in the Caloundra suburb, which boasts a Greg Norman-designed golf course, a marina, and world-class amenities.

“Years in the planning, the completion of this first-class residential haven is a major

milestone for the southern Sunshine Coast,’’ Henzell Property Group managing director Mclean Henzell said.

“Owners are now relaxing in the supreme comforts of their new homes. Completed

to the highest standards, Corsica is simply a stunning place to live.”

A handful of residences priced from $1.7 million remain in what will be the final

release at Corsica.

The developers have held back a select range of two and three-bedroom apartments, which are now being offered to market.

“With remaining stock selling quickly, interest in the final six remaining apartments is

high, and the opportunity is not expected to last long,’’ Mr Henzell said.

The high-end apartments feature light-filled spaces with modern amenities and views of the surrounds.

Features include large, indoor living areas that seamlessly connect with wide balconies, private

bedrooms, luxury bathrooms, and modern kitchens.

The building also offers secure parking, a residents-only resort pool, and high-end fixtures and fittings throughout.

“With most Corsica buyers being long-time Pelican Waters residents, either downsizing or upgrading to high-end, yet low-maintenance properties, they are embracing an exciting new chapter in their lives without stepping away from the community they love,’’ Mr Henzell said.

“With magnificent waterways on the doorstep, it’s so easy to drop in a fishing line, paddleboard, kayak or pontoon boat.

“Swimming at the beach, exploring the marina boardwalks and coastal pathways, or taking to the fairways of the nearby Greg Norman-designed golf club are all part of everyday life.”

Construction on Stage 2, Comino, is now underway, and will feature 40 apartments over six levels.

Apartments will range in price from $1.4m to $5.3m and vary in size from 197 sqm up to 511 sqm for the grand penthouse.

Residents will be able to enjoy private beach rooms and access to a resort-style pool, and they will have secure vehicle and pedestrian gate access.

When completed, the luxury residential enclave will comprise four stages, with private swimming pools, recreation spaces, and waterfront restaurants and cafes on the doorstep of the first dedicated marina precinct delivered in South East Queensland in decades.

Down the road from The Cove is Palm Lake Resort — a sprawling new Sunshine Coast resort redefining over-50s living with an unprecedented standard of design and lifestyle amenities.

The resort is aimed at ‘rightsizers’, with prices ranging from around $1.5m to $4.5m for the top-of-the-range, double-storey homes.

The resort will comprise around 330 homes once completed, with about 60 homeowners already settled into the community.
