The Block 2021 episode 25 bedroom reveal: Twins are ‘sticking their finger up at the judges’
They produced one of the worst bathrooms the judges had ever seen, and now one of the most controversial teams on The Block is refusing to back down. Here’s why.
Is there anyone more competitive than Ronnie and Georgia?
Georgia has wind of the fact some teams are going to substantially change their dreadful challenge pieces to ensure they aren’t marked down for having an eyesore in their rooms.
“Strategically we pared ours right back to suit the space. I don’t think you should be able to completely change what you’ve created,” she says.

What made Vito storm off The Block
So there’s only one thing to do.
“God love her, she’s going to call a meeting,” Mitch says.
When Tanya admits she’s planning to jettison the bulk of her plantar box/steering wheel/intercom combo, Georgia is outraged.
“That’s why we did boring shelves. That was never going win us the challenge but it’s going to look good in our room,” she points out.
And it’s a fair point.
But Tanya has a fair one too.
Shelley Craft, watched on by Scott Cam, is the one who told her and Vito to break their piece apart to make it less offensive.
“That was her suggestion,” Tanya says. Ronnie and Georgia are sceptical and even Mark and Mitch, who were also advised to demolish their steering wheel/lantern/plywood display board, agree they should probably leave it as is in the the interest of fairness.
Tanya flounces off, saying “Gucci gang out”, for which she should be permanently disqualified alone, leaving Georgia stewing.
But like most Block cheating scandals, other than the one of a fortnight ago, this one fizzles into nothing, possibly because Ronnie and Georgia win anyway.
Shaynna Blaze says their $24,680 bedroom is “my favourite room on The Block so far” with its soaring ceiling, pin striped wallpaper, sky lights and mix and match colour scheme.
They also love the widened and lengthened redone walk-in robe, which cost them the win in master bedroom week.
Shaynna gives them a perfect 10 and the other judges 9.5 each, giving them a final score of 29 out of 30.
Unlucky second place getters are Kirsty and Jesse, who badly needed to win to complete their mammoth house.
Their $19,855 girl’s bedroom has double doors out to a patio, a padded bench seat, under bench storage and a floral wallpaper feature wall. And the judges also love their redone master bedroom, with a change in paint, bedside tables and bedding.

‘Old-fashioned public toilet’ — Block room slammed
Darren tips them as possible overall Block winners, if they can just manage to finish their gigantic home, adding “but I’d be vomiting with anxiety if I was them”.
Mark and Mitch’s charming $22,461 gender neutral jungle themed kid’s room features bunk beds plus a trundle, jungle wallpaper, a beautifully styled wardrobe and the clever ability to switch it easily to an adult’s room.
Even their intact design piece gets the thumbs up.
The judges also like the fact their redone first bedroom now has more room, thanks to the bed being downsized to a double, a new pendant and a colour scheme with more pizazz.
Tanya and Vito thought this week was their best chance to finally score a win, but while Neale Whitaker loves their $15,220 kid’s room with custom built-in bunks featuring a king single on top and double below and terrazzo wallpaper, Shaynna is less enamoured.
“I don’t love it like you,” she says. “It feels cold, there’s so many sharp edges and hard surfaces.”
The judges also note the fact the bunks are built in — which would mean a complete renovation to convert it to an adult’s room.
But judges all like the retiled bathroom, with those baby-poo brown tiles gone, replaced with white tempered square versions.
This week it’s Josh and Luke who really cop a pasting, to the point it’s impossible not to feel sorry for them.
Other than the small matter of the cheating scandal, for which they apologised more genuinely than Tanya and Vito, they seem like decent fellows and it’s hard to watch them being ground down week after week.
Their $17,248 bedroom has a strip lit wardrobe that Shaynna likens to a giant bar fridge, and a Laminex wall panel that they’ve offset, which none of the judges love. Neale can’t put his finger on why, but he hates it.
“I do not know which house this bedroom belongs in. It doesn’t have any reference point to any other bedroom in this house,” he says.
“They’re not delivering to the level this house has to be delivered.”
And the judges equally hate their redone bathroom. The boys have added a timber screen to section off the toilet, and put a wooden bath mat on the floor, but other than the merciful removal of the bath cheese, it’s not much different.
“They are sticking a finger up at the judges,” Neale claims.
And on that, at least, the twins agree.
“It was a bit of an up yours,” Josh says.
JUDGES’ FINAL SCORES
1 Ronnie and Georgia 29
2 Kirsty and Jesse 28.5
3 Mark and Mitch 28
4 Tanya and Vito 27
