The Block 2021 episode 13 recap: Cheating scandal erupts as Love Island twins win for controversial master bedroom
Twins Luke and Josh prove architect Julian Brenchley and foreman Keith wrong, wowing judges with their stylish and spacious master bedroom — before they’re accused of cheating.
Twins Josh and Luke’s first Block room win has been marred by explosive allegations the duo was getting inside help.
Soon after the Love Island stars took the top prize for controversial master bedroom and walk-in wardrobe, a furious Ronnie told producers that the brothers had been given a leg-up in the competition.

“Josh and Luke won. I guess it helps to cheat. I mean, it helps to know the full schedule of what rooms are coming up and they know when the challenges are coming up,” he ranted as Georgia shook her head in disgust.
“That’s a fact. They’ve known since day one.”
It wasn’t the first time the boys’ tactics have raised eyebrows. The arrival of Luke’s fiancé, Olivia, on the work site also had Ronnie seeing red.
Luke denied his lady love was there to give him extra styling help, but the cameras don’t lie, and she was soon steering all his furnishing choices proudly exclaiming “sometimes you just need a woman’s touch!”
“If the twins win that Chanel handbag because of the way they styled their room I’m calling a body corporate meeting and I will call bullshit because your fiancé styled your room,” Ronnie said.
The boys surreptitious styling assistance didn’t go unnoticed by Mitch and Mark either. Their eyebrows were raised by the twins suddenly improved decor choices.
The Block veterans came a close second to the twins’ room with their small yet impeccably dressed room.
“To me this feels a little tight for a master but it’s a good room and I think they have absolutely made the most of the proportions they are working with,” judge Neale Whitaker said of Mitch and Mark’s soft green room.
Mitch was particularly thrilled to hear that Neale wanted him to give him some bed making lessons. High praise when only hours earlier Mitch was sent spiralling into a shopping frenzy by Mark underwhelmed reaction to his monochrome bedding choices.
Within a flash Mitch had returned with an armful of fluffy tan and white pillows to lift the bed from blah to one they hoped would make Neale green with envy.
Green was certainly the colour of the day with Ronnie and Georgia, as well as Kirsty and Jesse, opting for a similar shade — with varying degrees of success.
Ronnie’ and Georgia’s green feature wall and bedhead was certainly a hit with the judges, as were those towering ceilings that have had foreman Keith singing their praises all week.
In a rare display of contrition, Keith had also agreed that Georgia was right to be smoking mad no-one had told her the fireplace was needed to hold up the ceiling.
To rectify the problem, Keith and Dan agreed to split the cost of having an engineer install a support beam into the roof itself, thus alleviating the need for an unsightly post in their living area.
And those high ceilings certainly were a showstopping feature of their house if the judges’ reactions were anything to go by.
“There are moments when wow is not enough. I wish there was something more like OMFG,” Neale exclaimed upon catching sight of their soaring ceiling.
“To have gigantic proportions is one thing but to know what to do with it …” Neale added to schoolboy giggles from Darren Palmer, who quickly realised the double entendre of saying such a thing in the bedroom of all places.
“What are you two?” Shaynna Blaze admonished of their Benny Hill banter.
Their delight soon turned to dismay when they caught sight of Ronnie and Georgia’s cramped wardrobe, which Shaynna felt was “planning gone wrong” to have servicing such a vast bedroom.
Shaynna was equally unimpressed with the wardrobes over at Tanya and Vito’s place (which she said jarred with the colour scheme of the bedroom) and Kirsty and Jesse’s offering which — like Ronnie and Georgia’s design — was too tight for a high-end home.
She saved her highest praise for Luke and Josh’s wardrobe saying it felt like “coming home.” Interestingly, despite Keith’s grave warnings all week that they’d be penalised by the judges for their low ceilings, the only thing the judges noticed on that score was the impressive skylights.
If anything, they felt Josh and Luke had made the best use of space – even though it had come at the expense of having a second car space.
If the judges’ reactions are anything to go by, it seems the boys are now in pole position to bag that Chanel purse offered for the best wardrobe styling.
Of course, that could well be thanks to them having a secret weapon up their sleeve in the shape of Luke’s fiancé. Little do they know Ronnie is on the case and he is NOT happy.
JUDGES’ SCORES

Mitch and Mark: 26.5
