Aussie tennis superstar Ash Barty has scored a lavish beachfront apartment on the Gold Coast.
The Wimbledon champion splashed close to $4m to secure a half-floor sky home within the striking 41.25m-high tower, currently under construction at Palm Beach.
The 12-storey apartment building, named Kloud, showcases cutting-edge design and marks a first foray into the Glitter Strip luxury market for celebrity developer Graya.

Headed up by brothers, Rob and Andrew Gray, Graya carved a niche building showstopping Brisbane home for high-profile clients, including rugby league great Darius Boyd and his wife Kayla, rapper Example and his then-wife, model Erin McNaught, and rugby players, Quade Cooper and Israel Folau.
It is understood three-time Grand Slam winner Barty, who earned more than $30m during her stellar tennis career, will hold the Jefferson Lane apartment as a lock-and-leave holiday home.
Rob Gray said Barty was previously interested in purchasing within some of the company’s Brisbane projects before moving on the avant-garde southern Gold Coast tower.
“Ash has inquired about some of our Brisbane apartments over a number of years and then she ended up securing a Kloud apartment,” Mr Gray said.
“The proximity to the water afforded by the beachfront location on Jefferson Lane gives the apartments such a premium luxury feel, and Palm Beach offers that relaxed holiday lifestyle.
“Like myself, I assume Ash and her family will want to spend every weekend there.”
Spanning about 200 sqm of living space with breathtaking ocean views, the four-bedroom, three-bathroom apartment has soaring glass walls and a private balcony with integrated barbecue kitchen, open-plan living areas with European oak floorboards, and a kitchen with a large island dining bar, integrated Miele appliances, and natural stone surfaces.
Curved forms and smooth lines extend to the master bedroom, which has wool carpet, a walk-in robe and ensuite with a walk-in twin shower, dual vanity, and freestanding bath.
The former world number one player retired from professional tennis in 2022 aged 25. She announced she would build her dream home in Brookwater, a new residential community close to where she grew up in Ipswich, west of Brisbane.

In July last year, Barty and her golf pro husband Garry Kissick welcomed their first child, a baby boy named Hayden.
She has remained in the public eye through a raft of brand ambassador roles, and publishing a series of children’s books.
Kloud comprises 23 apartments and a rooftop terrace on an 810sq m site, including two whole-floor penthouses, nine two-bedroom units, six three-bedroom units, and six four-bedroom apartments
Andrew Gray said the Palm Beach project was named for its striking free-form design.
“We opted for the name Kloud as it reflects our vision to bring sky homes that float above the horizon, with long views along the beach to Burleigh Headland in the north and Currumbin Headland to the south,” he said.
Five apartments in Kloud are currently listed for sale, with another four to be released in April and the final release to include the two penthouses.
Construction is expected to be competed mid-2025.
