Young couple steal the show and secure historic Dulwich Hill terrace
Bids were flying all over the place as a thrilling battle saw a young couple snap up a Dulwich Hill terrace that forms part of the historic “Abergeldie Estate”.
Five parties registered, but in the end it came down to two eager bidders for the keys of 3 Abergeldie St, Dulwich Hill.
Their eagerness saw the three-bedroom semi sell for $1.607 million, which was $107,000 above reserve.
It was purchased by a young couple who knocked off a stack of families for the keys to the home, according to Ray White — Summer Hill’s Erik Polsek.

“The location, and being within a good school catchment area, were big drawcards for the 72 groups who inspected,” he said.
The semi-detached home has many original features and is one of five similar late-Victorian houses built in a Dulwich Hill area known as the “Abergeldie Estate”.
Sitting on the border with Summer Hill, the village, transport options and schools are all nearby. The house is also located within the Summer Hill Public school catchment area.
Mr Polsek said while buyer confidence is back, many vendors are still holding back from selling.
“Some are waiting until later in the year, but now is the best time of the year to sell as stock levels are tight,” he said.
“Those selling at the moment are reaping the rewards and securing better results because of supply and demand.”
Dulwich Hill is one of the inner west’s top performing suburbs in the current property market. The median sale price for houses has increased in the past three months by 1.4 per cent to $1,462,500, according to CoreLogic.
