PLENTY of rumours surround the reason for a snappy sale by Wiggles couple Lachlan Gillespie and Emma Watkins of their Wollstonecraft apartment.

WIGGLES couple Lachlan Gillespie and Emma Watkins have snappily sold their Wollstonecraft apartment.

No word yet on what has triggered the move for the married pair, although it comes amid recent speculation that Yellow Wiggle Watkins is pregnant.

The apartment’s sale price has not been confirmed by the ultra private couple who found fame as children’s entertainers.

Gillespie and Watkins have called the 1896 converted English-style manor apartment home for three years, having moved in about a year after they began dating.

They paid $1,395,000 in 2014.

The Shirley Rd offering came with a $1.9 million to $2.09 million price guidance through Stone Real Estate Lane Cove agent Desiree Hough, who had it on the market for just 12 days before its sale.

She said the couple decided to sell the home because they are travelling and touring extensively for work.

The schedule, she said, means the couple don’t spend enough time at home to enjoy the 184sqm apartment.

The heritage late Federation mansion was named Ben Ledi, presumably in reference to the mountain in Perthshire, Scotland.

It comes with stained glass windows — one etched with the building’s construction date.

There is a grand private foyer with soaring 3.5m ceilings with ornate roses.

The renovated apartment, with harbour glimpses, showcases grand proportions with a house-like sense of privacy and space.

The couple, who are currently on tour, tied the knot last April at Hopewood House in Bowral.

Emma wore an elegant vintage-inspired ivory gown by Australian designer Suzanne Harward and a bespoke diamond headpiece by milliner Viktoria Novak.

It was 2012 when Jeff Fatt — of “Wake up Jeff” fame — handed over his purple skivvy to Gillespie at the same time as Watkins joined the gang.

The Wiggles have been entertaining children for 26 years
