The resort-like estate with tennis court, pool and sprawling home
Acreages aren’t all out west. Syndey’s northern beaches has some impressive resort-like estates aimed at buyers who want serious privacy and an outdoor lifestyle.
When Sydneysiders think acreage homes they tend to think Dural and Kenthurst out west.
But it is possible to own acreage with all the bells and whistles and still be ten minutes from a Sydney beach.

HISTORIC BATHURST ESTATE FINALLY SELLS
Terrey Hills, on the northern beaches, tends to fly under the radar. The suburb has a population of just over 3000 people, two golf courses, six schools, horse riding trials, BMX tracks and a skatepark.
The myriad firetracks in bushland are used by mountain bike riders and the Cooyong Aumuna Track is one of the favourites, a track that used to be known as Neverfail Gully Track.
Amid this unspoilt and very outdoor-orientated suburb there are five acreages on the market.
Wattle Grove, a 1.8ha acreage in Aumuna Rd near the Cooyong Aumuna Track, is one of the more impressive estates on the market. It has a championship floodlit tennis court, lagoon-style swimming pool with gazebo and a sprawling single-level home.
The resort-like home at 259 Aumuna Rd goes to auction on June 29 and has a $5 million guide.
Wattle Grove is accessed through a security gate via intercom and touchpad, and the driveway winds through the property to a porte cochere right outside the front door — a welcome addition on rainy days.
From the foyer, the home divides into two wings, with bedrooms on the right and the living and areas to the left.
And there is a spot perfect for just about every conceivable occasion. A formal lounge with vaulted ceilings has a cozy fireplace, while the formal dining room sits next to a handy, temperature controlled wine cellar.
The kitchen is surrounded by a casual living space and family room, and this area also has a fireplace.
A veranda wraps around the home, offering sunny spots all year round, and there is also a covered terrace looks out over the garden.
The bedrooms are all large and have built-ins, and in keeping with the resort-style, two have ensuites with glass atrium showers overlooking a tropical courtyard garden.
The home is full brick, with exposed brick and timbers creating a timeless, country homestead-like feel.

Other features include triple lockup garage, workshop, several storerooms, ducted airconditioning and ducted vacuum system.
The home has dual street frontages and is close to international schools, Terrey Hills Primary School and the local village.
Shayne Hutton, of Sydney Country Living, said Wattle Grove has been expertly designed to a grand scale to fit its impressive setting. “It provides a rare and secluded sanctuary just moments from schools, shops and beaches and 25 minutes from Sydney’s CBD,” he said.
